Sjoerd-Jan ter Welle – Founder/owner of Aeroplus
Sjoerd-Jan is the initiator of the Aeroplus AcrossAfrica Challenge. After getting his Private Pilots License with Instrument Rating only four years ago, Sjoerd-Jan quickly accumulated over a thousand flight hours on mainly the Piper Archer III, Cirrus SR22 and others.
Using is own built and designed flightplanning software for iPad and iPhone, Sjoerd-Jan has flown to many exotic places like Barra, Courchevel and Corsica. After having covered most of Europe, Africa seemed a logical next step.

Wouter Nagel – Flightplanning and Operational Support
Wouter is involved with product development and support at Aeroplus. He holds a PPL himself and is an active member of the Rotterdam Aeroclub.
Lex Versteeg – Founder/owner of Skydeck
Lex Versteeg learned to fly gliders first, over fourty years ago. He started to work for several large insurance and financial firms in the Netherlands, before starting his own company. After selling his company he turned to aviation. With his CPL with multi-engine and instrument ratings, Lex covered Europe and the continental USA with his Cirrus SR22 and King Air E90.
Lex is founder and owner of Leverco with its SkyDeck hangar at Teuge (EHTE), the point of departure for the Challenge.
Erik Brouwer – Flightplanning and Public Relations
Erik is part of the Aeroplus team, participating in product support and development. He is also the editor of AOPA Pilots & Planes magazine, the largest pilot magazine in the Netherlands.
